Hi, we are coming down for Fairford Airshow this weekend and my son has booked a shuttle bus from Swindon bus station thinking it was a Park and Ride thing. Having realised there is no parking included, we need somewhere reasonably priced near the bus station where we can park from 6am to 7pm. Any suggestions?

Bristol street car park is probably your cheapest option.

Good 10 min walk from station though.

There´s also:

If you don't want to spend £8 and don't mind a longer walk, the CG car park is free on (non-matchday) Saturdays!

Turl Street is the nearest option, it's right by the bus station but will probably get busy with people having the same idea. £8 for 6-24 hours

The Whalebridge car park (new multi-storey) just the opposite side on Fleming Way would be more secure and same cost

Or park out of town for free and get the bus in.

Parking at Swindon Station West car park is only £4.90 a day at weekends and is only a short walk to the bus station

I'm getting the RIAT shuttle bus as well tomorrow and that's where I'll be parking

To mildly derail the thread, this has made me realise driving oop north tomorrow, and using the A419 might be a problem.

Anyone know what it'll be like getting to the M5 via the A419?

Pretty busy I'd imagine, but I don't know as I've never been to Fairford, why not go M4 -> M5 to be safe?

I was debating that, but it seems a huge detour. I was also debating the A420, but I think that'll be as bad if not worse. Might just roll the dice and ensure I have sorted some playlists first.

Carfax St car park is right behind the bus station. Not sure of the parking charges.

Didn't Tory Garry Perkins knock that one down, to create one of those holes where junkies with pit bulls can congregate? SBC seem to like them.

It'll be fine, they usually split the lanes from around Blunsdon/Cricklade so that through traffic doesn't have to queue.

If it were me, I'd probably go Purton > Minety > Kemble and then pick up the A417 north of Cirencester.
