This should be in the Trivial Things Unlike thread, but why does anyone call their female spouse "the wife"? I absolutely hate it, I dunno if the respective partners mind and don't care anyway to be honest.
It just grates with me. It is like "the sink", the "Hoover", the "dog shit bags".
Possessive and 'orrible.
It annoys me too. I think as well as the feminist angle it just sounds odd. The word "wife" has a bit of a weird ring to it, I dunno. It's not as bad as "her indoors" mind

Haha, nah, it's a mk4 and a petrol. It's been neglected, its a second car which hasn't been used but the missus is moaning at me to get it done so we at least know if we need to get another cheap run around.
What about this one, Ells?

One that really pisses me off is when women refer to other half as "the boy" - usually seems to be in younger couples.
"This one" really grinds my gears as well "German Christmas market with this one" accompanied by picture(s) of two colossal bellends.
