Because even I'm bored of this topic in the other thread...

In short, I've been offered a new job in Paris but have no experience of relocating. The hiring company are putting together a relocation package. What should I ask for/expect to be included in that? Is there anything that's standard that I should make sure?

Anyone have much experience in this sort of thing?

Make sure you ask for a beret, a bike and a string of onions so you can blend in.

I think it depends on the company and what they are willing to pay towards helping you relocate.

When I left Edinburgh to move to Luxembourg, the company that I was moving to in Lux basically paid for me to move over, transfer of my items, paid for my rent for 3 months etc and generally were very good.

Moving back to England, I got bog all, but that was because I asked for the move internally.

On both moves, it was just myself as we have no kids so was very easy. If you have a family, then I suspect it will be trickier. My advice would be to try and get as much help from the company as possible, moving country and family isn't easy so get as much as you can.

Alternatively, speak to Red Frog who has been through all this! Smiley Good luck.

Except to miss all of the things you didn't expect to miss and none of the things you thought you'd miss.

I love malt loaf! Not had that in years.

Was there not a brand called Soreen? Doreen's not had her Soreen or something?
