Anyone know who he was and how he got up there? Whoever it was is a fucking muppet, not only will he almost certainly cost us a hefty fine and with the pressure being put on people sitting down in the Town End, I wouldn't be surprised to see it closed for the Southend game. Furthermore there was a safety meeting at the club this morning which is only going to make matters worse.
It was quite funny though.

You call him a fucking muppet but then say it was funny!, make up your mind?. :-))(
Why should the Town End close just cos the Stewards didnt stop a man from climbing onto the Town End roof?.

Is there a law against laughing at stupid people? It's unlikely I admit, but with all the bollocks about standing in the TE it's just something that would be absolutely typical of the club, council and safety officers. I'm not saying it should be closed, obviously, just that one man's actions could have serious consequences for the club.

Absolute dickhead.....a couple of seasons back Tranmere v Mansfield, was abandoned when a fella did he same....you may have noticed the ref go to the side.... when he noticed, fortunately at that point the fella must have come down a bit, otherwise the ref would have had no option but suspend the game, and alert OB as the security of the crowd is his responsibility.
Had he then not cooperated the game would have been abandoned.

If it had been abandoned then i would have kicked him in the face a few times!, surely the club are in no financial position to close the Town End.

It's not upto the club though, it's the council and safety people who put pressure on the club. The club can't just tell them to fuck off (unfortunately).

It was somehow amussing but he was indeed a tit. I was worried he was going to go through it and land on me. At the end of the day he won't be seen a a Swindon game for a long time.
On an unrelated note, why did the club bother wasting time, effort and money installing those pathetic "sit down and supporty your club" signs up in the Town End. It doesn't really matter that you agree or do not agree with the message, they are completely pointless.

Pat Butcher!!!!
Yes the guy on the roof was a dickhead, but yes it was funny!!!
Surely they can't shut the stand because ONE MAN got on the roof?! If somebody had been on top of the Nationwide would they shut that next week?

reeves4england, its a health and saftey hazard, there will be an investigation into how exactly the fuck he was allowed on the roof and why the stewards didn't spot him climbing up. if the way up is still there at the next game the H/S peeps could claim its an issue and close it down. would be harsh but its swindon, anything could happen...

Not trying to agrue with you Whits, you have a valid point. But if it was the Nationwide, would they have to close it down?!
And surely Swindon are the ones paying the stewards to do a job through a company, they are not employed by the club are they?!
