Pffft, only 89,283 crowd,  not even a sell out  Cheesy

What's the capacity? Fair few empty seats in front of the camera.

Far from it :-).  I saw plenty of diverse faces singing it out loud from both sides because it's tradition even though nearly all like you no nothing  of its meaning.

You must be completely right and I must completely wrong then.

FINALLY YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THE INTERNET WORKS.

In all seriousness I personally think having a hymn at the start is a bit unnecessary. National anthem, yes. But then what makes it different to any other match played at Wembley? You can see the reason why it's been kept. It's a bit of a dirge but I don't have a problem with it being there because it differentiates the FA cup from the L1/L2/conference playoff finals, which, with the utmost respect, are not quite in the same league of pomp really.

Blimey in the days of football selling out and going against every tradition going people want to get rid of the Cup Final song too? Think there's something nice about Abide with Me being sung pre match. Thinking about all those other football fans from previous generations who stood and sung that song, why? Because it happened to be the cup final.

Actually lets not bother anymore, let's do a phone/text vote to see which teams play in the final, take the final on tour around the world and have a 1945 Thursday night kick off time too.

Fuck tradition eh?

I had £2 on Walcott, Sanchez and Giroud all to score at 14/1. Didn't even watch the game but have £30 to play with now Smiley

I was ready to kiss & make up  Love  However now you mentioned the National Anthem!!! I really do not see why it is sung before a playoff final. My solution would be National Anthem & nothing else before FA Cup Final and no anthems / hymns at all or even Glad All Over before playoff finals.

I find it embarrassing that almost everyone gets the last line of the first verse of the National Anthem wrong. Correctly it is 'God Save THE  Queen' not our.

Have you ever wondered why the FA Cup is held in such high esteem around the world? It starts in July/August and finishes at Wembley at the final whistle. Including Abide with me and the National Anthem. Similarly all the tourists who flock to London do so because of though not exclusively our Monarchy. The buildings, the pageantry, the members of the total family. Yep, shopping, theatre etc all play a part but that they can get anywhere in the world. Change and progress are all well and good, however, you need to be careful what you take away and consequently what you leave. For me the omission of Prawn sandwich utd a few years ago to play on the other side of the world in exchange for some votes to host a world cup, devalued both the FA Cup and the reputation of English football, the FA and the politically corrupt governing body of football. See where FIFA are now.....

Agree about no need for the anthem.

Yesterday's Spanish Anthem, in front of the King, was classic 50,000 Catalans and Basques all booing.

We never sing about "Rebellious Scots to crush" in the anthem either.

I went yesterday.

Villa were worst than Swindon....no corners and no shots on target!

Also, a shit game for a neutral, unlike last year when Hull went 2 zip up.

Had a beer though!

Good to say you've been to one Flash, and presumably not care about the result.

Not sure I can stomach Wembley again for a year or so

Been to three now....prawn sandwich tickets with work and distinct lack of interest from colleagues and customers....my name is always down. Met some of my customers there....Villa fans and not happy.
