Couldn't give a fuck.
It used to be a really exciting day. Now it's just kind of dropped off my radar completely  No Zzz
Both of these sum it up for me.

When I were a lad, it was one of the two live games on TV all season (the other being England v Scotland)

Now, it's just another game which has no real interest if your team isn't playing

It was always THE highlight of the season, the build up pre game on kids tv from 9am like Swap Shop or Tiswas then followed by Football Focus with a massive build up, following the coaches to Wembley from their hotels.....now football on TV is at saturation point and the FA Cup final means nothing as a spectactle any more, partly devalued by Big clubs playing their reserves and Youth players in the early rounds and Man Utd dropping out of it altogether in 1999/2000.

Now its just another game, normally between two Premiership clubs....dull.

As an event, I still look forward to it. In fairness, they're mostly Finals between two top flight clubs and plenty of FL teams get quite far still. 2008 had three non-PL teams in the Semi-Final, that's modern times.

The lack of a 3pm thing is rubbish especially when you know it's to accommodate our friends in the USA etc.

The top level of Non-League football is also largely professional now so that's taken a bit of the edge from the 'Giant Killing' too.

A Conference, sorry, National League side beating a League One team doesn't feel that impressive anymore.

The best final in recent years was the 2006 final when Liverpool and west ham drew 3-3.

I was at Hampden that day at the Scottish version watching Hearts beat Gretna on penalties after trouncing Hibs in the semi final. Great days.

Personally I love the FA Cup! Perhaps some of the romance has faded but its still by large one of sports greatest occasions!

I think my enthusiasm for it has been dampened by working on cup final day the last few years. If I had the day off I'd have some mates over, crack open a few beers and enjoy it. As it is, I'll be listening in whilst driving home from London to Preston, in a repeat of what was rather a miserable journey just 6 days ago.

We're not playing so I couldn't give a flying one, never have done.

I love the Cup Final. Come on Villa!

But I wish the dreadful Abide With Me was dropped. What a boring song. Utter crap. I wonder how many of the crowd know the meaning of Abide.

I used to watch the hours of build-up, but now I don't even bother with the actual match. Football's crap these days.
