More in hope than expectation, but I'd love to see the remaining games treated as preparation for the play-offs, ie as one-off cup matches, winner-takes-all etc etc. Real in your face stuff and no risk-taking.

Can't see it happening though.

In some ways we have to. We need to prepare for the cup mentality. The 2 games on TV were similar to what the play offs will be like for the players. Tough atmospheres and games that could go either way. Hopefully they learned a thing or 2 from them.

I thought we were already in that mode.

It's better to be happy to be in the play offs then be disappointed to not go up automatically, so I'm, in a weird kind of way happy that the two two have pulled away.

Get over the patchy form of late and be ready and a happy to take on the play off fight.

The run-in this far has that all too familiar feeling what with injuries, suspensions and a player openly talking about leaving.

Town still have plenty to play for and my support shall be unwavering but it's feeling like previous seasons, you know?

Promotion this season, against all odds, would be frankly delicious.

Think the key thing in this period now is to manage the players. Rest them, but still getting them in form ready for the playoffs is key. Strikers are the key thing that needs resolving.

Absolutely. What is the strike rate of our forwards as since New Year? At one point Andy Williams was 1/10 to be the division's top scorer! Now PNE's Garner has caught him up. It can't all be down to the other teams' keepers have good games against us, the woodwork being in the way etc or is it?!

Whatever it is, I will still be giving the team my full support at the CG on Saturday.

Not arguing with that, but conceding 6 goals in two games tells the other half of the story.

Well, I'm still relying on the 82ers beating Preston, we win our game in hand, beat Preston ourselves and we're only 1 point behind.

Simples!

But the problem with this is that we'll be relying on MK losing a game or two in that time... if what you said above happens and MK win their games we'll be in 4th still, Preston in 3rd and MK in second. I'd rather Preston went up automatically than the Franchise fucks.

Well I'm planning my first visit to the CG in ages, against Yeovil. So it's bound to go pear shaped that day  Smiley

Yeah true, but we wouldn't have conceded 3 in both games if we had taken earlier chances.

I'm down from Scottyland for the Yeovil game.  Got given hospitality for my 50th birthday.   Pint
Mrs Exilederic is joining me for her first ever STFC game.  It's got 0-0 written all over it.

Can I politely request that all the jonahs, who haven't seen us win all season (or longer), just do the decent thing and not attend any games?
