if we don't finish 2nd... we're going to win at Wembley. Simple as that.

Yes we have the toughest of the 3 teams in the run in but if we can keep up the recent run we can beat anyone...82ers and Preston included.

Although I think a trip to Wembley is on the cards as long as we avoid Sheff Utd in the PO's 2 leg part.

Can look at it another way.

Cos we get to play Franchise and Preston, a win is worth so much more than, say, Rochdale.

Do I think this side has it in them to get promoted? Yes. However, it's not in my DNA to show the sort of levels optimism that others can. In my mind it's just setting yourself up for an almighty fall... again.

Ultimately, I believe that Cooper is going to go for it. I'd rather see Town finish 4th, 5th or 6th while giving it all they've got than to cautiously finish 3rd. Once you're in the Play-Offs 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th means nothing.

It would take something cruel to not make the Play-Offs now, a finish we'd have all taken just under a year ago. We could also find ourselves with one of the highest 3rd place points totals in recent history if we cannot displace Preston. Meh.

Looking at those stats 4th is the position to finish to win the POs.

How the fuck did Scunny ever have a team to get 90-odd points

There is still a lot of teams still in touch for that last play-off spot, so no game is going to be easy.

Take it one game at a time, and see what happens...

We just need to hope someone like Chesterfield or Port Vale finish 4th...

Hopefully we won't need to care, after claiming 2nd...

Very true....if we can't finish in the autos, then I'd like 3rd place, may have some PO advantage, but more so as it would be our highest finish this century....I'm sort of ruling out that 24th in Div 2, 99/00 is higher, than anything in Div 3.  So, a sign of what has been achieved this season

Whoever nicks the final playoff spot is likely to get it because they have found a bit of form at the right time.

Might be better to avoid them should we have to settle for the p/o's

The team that wins the playoffs will be the team that gets to Wembley for the final, and then wins the final at Wembley.

That's my tuppence worth.

I can think of one team to whom that scenario didn't apply.
