Car in for MOT yesterday (Renault Grande Scenic) and although it passed got told that the caliper on the offside rear will need replacing.  Can anybody tell me if this is (a) expensive or (b) a long job?

I'd imagine the mechanic concerned could probably let you know.

Brake calipers can be pricey though it shouldn't be too long a job.

Cheap and easy job. An hours Labour and the part which shouldn't be expensive.
A reliable back street garage shouldn't hurt the pocket too much.

Had a calliper on my Honda CRV replaced last weekend (plus pads) - £167 and took about an hour.

The caliper themselves are between £80 and £100 and an hour fitting cost.
