Unhelpful I know but 8s into 13/2 definitely isn't a reason to throw money on, barely coming in at all.

Cheers DMR

Another question if you don't mind. If a horse in a relatively minor race comes in a bit like Asker, 8-1 to 11-2, is that due to a large amount of money or could it just be influenced by few bets from the TEF/similar skewing the normal betting patterns?

I did mention I know nothing about betting! Smiley 12s had been mentioned in an earlier post so also assumed it was higher before I had a look this AM

In a low grade race at a low grade track (like this case) then a couple of grand in one stake would probably be enough to shorten the horse a point, yeah. However, I think in this case that shortening would be because the second fav was pulled out (if you look at the market for the race, every horse has been shortened)

From what i've gathered they lost a huge amount of money at lingfield, for some reason (the going? the look of another horse?) they pulled today as they want a surefire as possible to recoup. The serious money wasnt placed today but they are running it weds at leicester

Lumped on hurricane fly today. First bet on the horses for ages. Don't pay a lot of attention to it anymore but with Cheltenham around the corner I'm sure I'll be more attentive over the next few weeks. Then I'll lose a few hundred quid during the festival no doubt Doh

BDM out again today. Shorty but odds against in a 4 runner field is still big. Mortgage job.

I actually fancied the winner, for some reason. No I did not put any money on it I know fuck all about horses. I copped the result in the bookies when placing my town bet as I'd not got there in time.
