Just had an email from club re mascots
Seems even they are subject to price changes per match category.

£225 for bronze and then add £50 for silver and again for gold ( £325  Eek )

At least there doesn't seem to be a shortage of takers

I know the club are trying to make money but that seems extortionate. What do you get for the price?

I took little'un to Northampton as a mascot in our championship season in league 2. I got 2 tickets, signed photo and a goody bag for £50. I can't see what you get to charge £325 for.

I think you get a trial also and are potentially fastracked into the first team

Its not just the mascot pricing that is crazy. Have you noticed in the program the lack of sponsors for players this year?

Obviously most of you know from the townend sponsorship but £650 for a home shirt and £450 away is an increase of £200 per shirt from last season and is reflective in the take up.

*reflected. Unless you mean the shirts themselves are reflective, in which case blame fatbasher, he's the hi-vis nut.

Perhaps you get to dress up as Rocking Robin for the day?

I don't think there were any mascots at last Saturday's game?

I think sometimes (ie when setting prices for mascot packages, player sponsorship, and even match tickets) it would pay to remember that we are a Division Three football club and that Swindon people, whilst not the poorest, tend to have less cash to burn than folk from Monaco.

Shame if we have no mascots, I'm sure there are plenty of kids out there that would love to do but who's parents cannot afford £200+ shame the club cannot see it is not just a money spinner but a way of building community spirit.

If they are that desperate for mascots I'm sure some staff members have kids (most of the players are to young) as a stop gap
