Sonic, enlighten us on the fine watering holes of Bampton  Cheesy

I used to go out with a girl from Cartoon Town (Carterton) and of the 3 pubs there not one was decent.  Allways full of inbreds from Brize.

I don't dare drink in Bampton, too many mentalists.

Not bad ones just someone I don't particularly want to see as he is a bit of an idiot.  I used to watch them play every weekend.  They are good!!!

Pub is old fashioned though, too small.

Traditional is the key...is much better than The Village and Brookhouse farm nearby.

We used to do the quizzes too now and again reg but its really small and stuffy in there.

I prefer Mackenzies to be honest, nice pub and the Merlin before match games or sunday afternoons!

That's what makes it weird, as it is an old fashioned country style small local, that has been swamped by new housing but  anomalously retains its character.

Exactly.  I think they have tried to modernise it but not really worked.  Their idea of modernising seems to be high priced drinks and shots etc. when there isnt a market for that there.

Apparently as soon as these landlords leave it will be turned into another house as they do not want to keep it open for much longer.  I think the land is owned by the council believe it or not!
