Football has completely changed Brentford about to sign one of Glasgow Rangers star players in a £1 million deal , imagine predicting in the late 80's that Brentford would be signing rangers top players for a million.

Rangers have to pay for Ally Mcmoists contract to be paid off. But yes in essence Brentford have never been big spenders until this season, the (apparently undisclosed) fee for Jota was in excess of £1.5m so that will be a transfer spend of £2.5m on 2 players this season.

Rotherham were sniffing around too. Rangers fans apparently thought he wasn't living up to his hype recently, and that's in the Scottish second tier. £1m?!

That is silly money for a club getting 9k-10k gates. Suppose they are banking on making the playoffs.

All they need now is Cherno Samba to complete their Football Manager 2006 front line.

Swansea City pay £1.75m for a 4th division footballer from Exeter City, Matt Grimes. Thats a lot of money for a 19 year old untested outside the bottom division. http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/swans-sign-highly-rated-teenager-matt-grimes-2174755.aspx

Swansea not exactly the worst at spotting talent in the world though.

What does that make Mass or Yasser worth by comparison?
