I got done at lights this morning by a type R, I blame thios on 1) he thought we were racing, 2) its bloody got good accelaration but not as much in 3rd Id say?, 3) I was half asleep and wasnt really with it.
My head is hung in shame

You mean a 325 !
BMW numbering goes on engine size (sort of!)
BMW 316 is a 1.8 litre
318 is a 2.0 litre
320 is a 2.2 litre
325 is a 2.5 litre
330 is a 3.0 litre
The biggest engine in the E46 3 series is the 3.2 litre lump in the M3.

pass mate. not a big BMW fan so numbers etc mean nothing to me. would have thought it would have given a Type R a decent race though. more coffee needed Monkey Nuts, to wake yourself up  |

330 is the only match for a Type R in a straight line drag race.
325 has 192 bhp but weighes over 1500 kg.
