Away Shirt

As mentioned, the red and white kits will clash with Sheff Utd, so there's bound to be a third shirt.

We've worn red against teams playing in red/white stripes in recent years (can't think of an example but remember seeing it at home and thinking "Oooh, shouldn't they have changed into their away kit?"), don't think it's that big a problem.

Nice shirt but as others have said £45 is a lot of money to shell out -  not sure if I can convince the Mrs to let me spend £45 when I've already spent on a ST

It's a shame that shirts are so expensive now, surely it can't cost the club anywhere near that to get them in

As per the discussion every year for the past 4-5 years, I think adidas set the price (or at least dictate it has to be that high) rather than the club.

And, also as I say every year, I'm less concerned about the cost of the adult kit (although I suspect it does restrict sales), than the kids' kit which is horrendous - £35 for a shirt, easily around £45+ if the kid wants their name on there which most do, £22.50 for shorts (yes that's right - £22.50 for a pair of kids' shorts!), and £10 for socks. That's the best part of £80 for a full kit. And then people wonder why we see more and more kids wandering around town in generic premiership team shirts instead of supporting their local side.

Isn't there new kit supplier part of their owners empire ?
Am sure the rugby lot using the same supplier

The away shirt has CFM on the back with the actual sponsor in quite small writing.

They could have put the sponsor's much more prominently on the back so quite happy they haven't.

At this stage of the season, when they're all newly relased, not by much (although a little). But they're much more likely to get discounted by the big retailers as the season goes on and often do, esp in run-up to Christmas. Plus the knock-off merchants will bother to do knock-off replica Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea etc whereas they won't be doing Swindon Town.

Yes when people don't want them, hence why they're discounted. Go back to the point I was making - every year, people moan about the number of kids wearing Premiership shirts around town and to Swindon games. Then look at the fact that it's easier (because they're more widely available) and cheaper (because they're more likely to be discounted at a time people still want them in any numbers) to buy Premiership shirts/kit than Swindon kit. Then consider that lower league clubs like Swindon have the uphill battle anyway against the saturation media glamourisation of the top teams, shouldn't we be making it easier/cheaper for local kids to buy Swindon kit than to buy Chelsea kit rather than the other way round?

Yeah, I always get last season's shorts - I can (just about) justify the shirt as a birthday present, but I'm not spending over 20 quid on a pair of generic template shorts with a badge on.

I don't think they are dear, my last one is 3 years old now and has had some serious wear and abuse, and still in good nick, whereas shirts and t shirts at the same cost bought at the same (ish) time, have long ago seen the bottom of the dustbin.

I don't have a gripe about the cost of the shirts, but I think it's unneccesary to constantly change the shorts every year, considering they're not much different.

I like the fact we had the same style socks for 4 seasons now, we could quite easily have had the same shorts (apart from going from red back to white)

I try and get my kids a kit every year, last year they wanted goalie kits which were mega pricey.
