Town made Troy the best offer they could

SWINDON Town could not take the risk of offering Troy Archibald-Henville anything more than a pay as you play contract for next season, according to chairman Lee Power.

From an injury and fitness point of view it could well turn out to be the right decision from our point of view. Certainly from TAH position a secure contract was his best position, so time will tell.

I like the fact that Power stuck to his guns on this. When money's tight you can't afford to gamble a chunk on a player who's spent the best part of 2 seasons sidelined by injuries. Great player at this level but a risk. Hope he does well at Carlisle.

Power got it right, it might fuck us off a bit when we play them but overall im happy that we offered him something.

His agent is a fucking magician to get him two years with his fucked up legs.

Fully agree. Good player when fit, but he's rarely fit for more than a game or 2 at a time.

Totally agree with everything that's been said. Glad we offered him something (and a pay as you play was definitely the right call). Good luck to him for getting something more concrete though.

Doubt it'll fuck us off anytime soon unless we get them in the cup though Flash. :-)

The lettering on his shirts cost a fortune too.

I'm bitterly disappointed that the Archibald-Henville's Swindon career didn't work out.

He cost Town something like £220,000 so about £9,500 a game.

A disaster of a transfer, really.

Sadly big name signings like this are a thing of the past.....

Isn't the lesson the opposite? Better to invest less at the outset and stand a better chance of turning a profit on resale.

I assumed it was a joke about the length of Troy's name...

Ha ha. Certainly made the Cox deals that bit more profitable.
