SWINDON Town Ladies have targeted a place in the Premier League within the next three years as they look to make Wiltshire a hotbed for women’s football.

Let's make this an 'I love women's football' column....looks as though it might inspire even more pages of hatred and bigotry than the Jed pages.

Don't say anything critical about anything. That way you'll avoid criticism and the ridiculous accusations of hatred and bigotry.

I'm with jaanage. Who wants to read about a load of lezzas and their dreadful standard of football?

Women's football is a waste of time, no problem with them playing it but trying to promote it as a big deal is just pointless. You just need to look at the sub 10,000 crowds for the women's FA cup final year on year to realise that. The standard is probably akin to county leagues at best and female keepers are a bit of a joke as most seem to lack the ability to dive.... I remember that idiot Hope Powell saying the female national team was more technically gifted than the mens......yeah we're very average these days but that's utter nonsense.
The whole women's set up is also a joke, Man City paid for instant entry into the Premier League which resulted in Doncaster Belles getting kicked out .... Probably the only women's team anyone has really heard of!

I really don't think that a couple of articles in a local rag in silly season counts as promoting it as a big deal.

What's wrong with a bit of news about the stfc ladies team? We get news about the youths etc. If you choose not to be interested then fair enough,  but why slate them?

And we wonder why we don't get any female posters on here any more (barring a couple of honourable exceptions).

Women's football is a lot like quorn. It doesn't bother me that it exists. It doesn't bother me that people like it. But let's not kid ourselves that it's anywhere near as good as the established 'real' alternative
