Are we playing Eastleigh? Be good to see Peacock and a certain James Constable...
Its a shame Lee has retired now, he manages the kids there.

Eastleigh and now Peterfield. Is someone dreaming of a Hampshire pre-season tour? Whoever that is, you can dream higher.

Eastleigh have also signed Jack Midson, ex scum player on a free, somebody that was linked to us a few years back. The Sun ( I know I know) is linking us with Jack Midson of AFC Wimbledon for £250,000

I once ran out of petrol on the A3, just outside of Petersfield, at some very early hour of the morning with a hired van load of people on the way back to Pompey from a Hawkwind free festival in Harlow. Rolled to the outskirts and then pushed to a handy garage....of course closed....but wonder of wonders, a machine that would take, in 73 probably a pound and dispense petrol. I reckon this was about the time of a boom in vending machines in GB....I knew of places where you could buy eggs, from outside farms, milk machines were available and I always liked shoe polishing machines.

Certainly did...you could pick them up quite cheaply in junk shops, nice looking ornamental ones to boot......40's/50's retro style....amazingly you could still buy the wicks.

My (great) nan used paraffin heaters in her bathroom until her dying day... And no she wasn't killed in a fireball home accident. Good knows how mind. She was well into her 90s.

Pound notes Reg? There was a petrol garage on Station Rd, in Tidworth, that had an out of hours vending machine for fuel. As far as I remember it took pound notes and fivers. This would be the mid 70's (I was very young).

Marlborough had one too, early/mis 80s Odd at that time none in swindon. Was a toss up whether to go Marlborough or Membury if needed fuel late on
