At the risk of exposing myself to be middle class, I've recently started buying posh eggs. They were on special and I didn't expect much but they're loads better- Burford Browns are cracking (got the pun in, phew) eggs that are particularly good scrambled.

I don't remember seeing it in Thailand although I would be surprised if it isn't eaten in the North.

I once saw somebody eating one in Laos. They sat their picking bits off and ate the lot: legs, beak, guts. It was not pleasant viewing.

Yeah, I've had it bought for me a couple of times, though haven't even been tempted to look at it to be honest. 

Cambodians will eat fucking anything, which is clearly a regional thing in some respects, but I can't help feeling the years of not having enough to eat meant they experimented further.

Rural Thais will eat anything as well.

Dancing shrimp salad is another bizarre one. It is a spicy shrimp salad and the shrimp are still alive.

Years ago when pubs didn't sell food as such, I used to like a pickled egg in a packet of cheese and onion crisps.

That, mixed with the evening's alcohol, made for an interesting morning dump
