Give them a bell mate, like batch said you've got nothing to lose. just ask them if you've still got a place despite not quite getting the grades.

Listen to Oxford fan (that hurts to say that!).
I missed out on my first choice (Swansea) but got accepted at my second (Reading) despite missing grades for both. I really wanted to go to my first choice.
To cut a long story short I rang the admissions tutor to say 1. A mate got in with worse grades 2. They had place available through 'clearing', wouldn't they rather have me than someone who didn't really want to go there.
It worked. Got transferred before term start and the rest is history.
Even if it doesn't work, what is there to lose. My mates sister goes to Swansea.... She got to go to Egypt on a trip..lucky girl.

Very close to AAA, although on the other hand very close to BBB.
Got in though so all's sweet.
