How did you do people?  I missed out on my first choice (Sussex), but I'd have been too close to Mexico Red for my liking, and my new place in Brunel means I'm "only" 50 odd miles from Swindon so I'll be a season-ticket holder for the next 3 seasons!   Cheesy

The embarrassing thing is I thought I'd got into Sussex, but it turns out I needed an A in English as well which I didn't get.  I got a B....  Just   :?   Not sure I should be studying English at uni, I got a D in the final module...

My mum used to work in the canteen at Brunel - along with the legendary Professor Heinz Wolf (he didn't work in the canteen).
I thought it was engineering there not inglish - anyway you can always get in the Halls opposite the morgue (bunch of stiffs - party poopers) and the hospital is just round the corner for drink related injuries and nurses.
Good luck have fun!

You know you're getting old when you don't know what the subjects are.  An A level in "ICT"?  What the fuck?!?  You can take an exam on Iverness Caledonian Thistle nowadays, no wonder they say they're getting easier.

Information Computer Technology, I think - computing to you and me.

A friend of mine's results spell: DUDE...  Every cloud...!

I'm a bit down to be honest, as I've told me mum but without explaining fully feel a bit mean as might have fucked her holiday up.  She's a bit of a slave driver, and wanted me to go to Sussex...  I'm getting absolutely muntered tonight, only thing for it!!

Have you tried calling Sussex Uni directly, Walrus? They might still let you in.

When I got my results 2 years ago, BCD, I needed BBC to get into my first choice so I was gutted when I opened the results envelope. But then I rang UEA Norwich up and they said I could still go.

Listen to Oxford fan (that hurts to say that!).

I missed out on my first choice (Swansea) but got accepted at my second (Reading) despite missing grades for both. I really wanted to go to my first choice.

To cut a long story short I rang the admissions tutor to say
1. A mate got in with worse grades
2. They had place available through 'clearing', wouldn't they rather have me than someone who didn't really want to go there.

It worked. Got transferred before term start and the rest is history.

Even if it doesn't work, what is there to lose.

They effectively said not to bother as it was fully booked.  I don't mind going to Brunel, although the ethnic diversity concerns me somewhat.  My answer was just to go out and get wrecked, and see what my parents recommend when they get back!   :|
