That second half was pure gash, although what did we expect, David "Calamity" James came on! Its surely the end of the road for him, i would rather have dodgy Chris Kirkland between the sticks.

This is further proof (if any more were needed) that friendlies are a waste of time for England, only 1 of those players looked like they were up for the battle tonight, and we all know who that was. The rest couldn't give a flying fuck, while the Danes fought tooth and nail for the full 90 minutes, and got what they deserved.

I still think that we will win our 2 upcoming WCQ games though.....

I cannot believe the interview with James afterwards, where he stated he didn't prepare properly.  You're on a 5 figure-a-week salary son wake-up you fucking moron.  That goal started the capitulation - I'm convinced if that hadn't gone in it'd probably have been a 0-0 game and not a bad match either.

He should be dumped from the squad for the Wales game, and give Nigel Martyn a place.

Nigel Martyn has had his chance and been found wanting, I feel a bit of sympathy for James as we've had a real goalkeeping problem for a whlie now.....and it would be very easy for him to retire from International football, but he answers the call with pride, but he's just not good enough, but there isn't a queue of options....Kirkland is always injured,  Green was reasonably poor last season....Carson is too young.

Our best hope is that Kirkland, gets a good season under his belt at WBA and so gets a late run as number 2.

Rhys Evans for England!! Would provide excellent back up for Robinson, his kicking seems to have improved and he has had a pretty good start to the season Cheesy

Rhys kind of exemplifies the crisis in English goalkeeping.....good enough for U21, but a long way short of even Prem standard.

Watching the England U19's recently....the keeper was at MKD, and not the fella who saved Sniff's pen, who's number 1.

at the end of the day its like a pre season friendly, although the players should be honoured to wear the 3 lions and play there heart out.

I wouldn't read much into todays performance apart from james ain't good enough

I don't watch England friendlies because they're invariably shit and a waste of time, I didn't watch tonight's game and it proved my point quite nicely I think.

It sums up everything I hate about football lately, at least the England cricket team show pride.

Funny how when the players came out for the 2nd half and i saw James was in goal, i turned to my Dad and said "this is where we lose the game!" and what a fucking surprise we let in 4 with that excuse of a keeper in goal, do us all a favour James and fucking retire!.

Who will Ericsson never let Defoe play a whole game?  Especially as he will be starting against Wales.  THere was absolutely no point in putting Owen on last night whatsoever.

I know people will say "it's only a friendly" but at the end of the day, on their wages, they should want to win for their nation.  It's a matter of pride, surely?

i would have given Owen a run out, but i would have just taken Rooney off with about 20 minutes to go.

Defoe needed to play 90 minutes to be given a full chance to show.

Problem is, is that sven has said he knows the starting 11 for the wqolrd cup, what a stupid thing to say! cause those people know who they are who aren't going to make the squad anyway, whatever you do. the likes of Defoe, Carragher, Crouch etc...don't have a chance. makes them less motivated, and make the players that are obviously starting at the world cup alot more relaxed and don't bother trying to much to impress sven.

Something which annoyed me last night was idiot Trever Frances commentry. He kept slating Rooney about his temper when in fact Rooney was the only guy who seemed up for the game and was running his socks off. If he lost the ball he would chase and chase until he won it back.

Glen Johnson was also truely awful. shouldn't be picked again and also James should never be England goalkeeper. He is shockingly shit. FACT

Also why play Owen when he isn't even available for the Wales game. Should have given Defoe 90mins.

Trevor Francis is possibly the worst commentator ever, people say its only a friendly but surely when you pull on that England shirt the importance of the game goes out the window whether its a World cup QF or a friendly, its all about pride and passion which most of the squad lack.

Too many of the players are running the national team which is why we need an Englishman back in charge to put them back down a peg or two.

Personally I reckon Martin O'Neill would make a good England manager. Can't really think of too many outstanding English candidates right now.

Please note this has been written by a man who wanted Strachan as the next Scotland manager instead of Smith, so I could be wrong here.
