Injuries have cost us 10 points says boss

SWINDON Town may well have been as much as 10 points better off had it not been for a series of injuries this season, according to manager Mark Cooper.

Away performances have cost us more...

Agreed - Being too negative tactically away from home has cost us.
I'd prefer us to play our natural attacking game away from home knowing we may spank some teams and being spanked by others.

If we played that way I reckon we'd have at least double the amount of points from our away games.

All if's buts and maybes of course but hopefully Port Vale away was a sign of things to come.

And that was only in one game!

Good old Shrewsbury logic.

As seems to be the case these days with the Adver, the headlines don't really reflect what Cooper is saying.

All sides get injuries...Orient have used 25 different players....including 3 different keepers. The thing that Cooper could have focused on as under his control is discipline.....back in September I wrote this

Quote
Cooper needs to have a word, both with himself and his players, being bottom of the fair play league this early in the season doesn't bode well and needs sorting.

I got slagged off by the usual suspects, for daring to suggest that this showed a lack of professionalism...but I'd hazard a guess we're still bottom, and it unsurprisingly has cost us.

Didn't disagree with you on that Reg. You had to get something right I suppose. Have you got the quotes to hand where you predicted relegation too?

Hehe

I've never predicted relegation...what I said and still say is we need to get to 52 points, and given away form and some tough looking home fixtures, this might not be straightforward, especially with the possible loss of Ranger....now confirmed, but not in the way thought....this is why the win at PV was massive.
