“I believe we’re signing a player from Norwich, I’ve been told that we are,” Swindon manager Mark Cooper told the Advertiser. “I’m led to believe we’re signing Jacob Murphy on a month’s loan from Norwich.”

Hahaha.

Ive been told that we are

So Power has still got contacts at Norwich as well as Spurs! I watched quite a few of Norwich's Youth Cup run last year and thought Jacob Murphy was outstanding - may find the physicality tough though. Hoping it will be a good loan deal for both clubs

Very highly thought of in Norwich, also has a twin brother who has signed a pro contract - hope we get the right one!

Every young player we've ever signed on loan has been 'highly thought of' by their parent club though Ronnie.

Don't get me wrong, I hope he proves to be a great signing, I'm just saying...

Cannot play in the 2nd leg of the southern final unless he was signed before we played the first leg of the tie though according to league rules.

But would be eligible for the final if we get there and he stays on loan long enough.

agree - I think this half of the family has made a debut in the prem though, although that counts for nothing I guess!

It does seem that Josh is a bit ahead of Jacob....twin players are an interesting curio...we had John and Gus Gilligan, neither of whom really made it, and Alf and Bill Stephens....Bill had a one storming season in 46/47, and seemed a bit better than Alf, but neither did much after leaving us.

The Dutch have cornered this market though, with Rene and Willie Van Der Kerkhoef, and Frank and Ronald de Boer, all of whom were top players

The commentator on Wedsnesday said the Thompson's were the first Brothers/Twins to play for us since Bill and Alf Stephens.

Yes in the same game...both the Gilligans played a few but in different games, as Shaun and Craig Taylor.
