Quite possibly not. But it won't cost you anything to sign it. If you don't feel that's enough you could also try writing to your MP to back the idea as well. And possibly also your local County FA to ask why they've not sent the info on to their member clubs. And get your work colleagues to do the same. |

Sunday league I play in isn't too bad.. bar one team who managed to get about 6 yellows in one half, looked like the whole chav community of penhill had come to watch(parents) who went on swearing fits at anyone... team was bottom of the league but we ended up losing 1-0 to them mainly due to all the distractions.

Absolutely done...and the reply from the government goes no way to dealing with the issue....grassroots football is NOT Football League or Football Conference. And even among the clubs there is lack of knowledge and understanding about the work of Community Trusts (which are independent of the clubs), and in some places, including STFC in the very recent past, a desire to get hold of the money that trusts receive for their programmes in the community.

Done, unfortunately my expectations of any real changes happening to the "grass roots" side of football are not great.
Until a few years ago I had done the whole bit at local level - Secretary/Treasurer/Manager/Linesman/Pitch marker outer etc. etc.. As time moved on the costs increased year on year and sponsorship of any form was always needed and is vitally important now so if some of the money could find its way to filter through then good, but I have doubts.
Reading through the article I could sympathise with the fact that heavy fines would be implemented at the drop of a hat for infringements by "committees" working strictly to the rule book that sat as judge and jury but never had anyone on said committee that had ever run a football team and appreciated the problems - seems that nothing much changes.
