Cooper unhappy with chants but accepts Town fans have a point

MARK Cooper accepted that Swindon Town’s fans had a point after hearing a selection of sarcastic chants emanating from the away end during the Robins’ 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United on Saturday.

At least he acknowledges that it wasn't good enough.

My point is that by 70 minutes minimum he should of changed it.

You would think he would mix it up considering nothing was happening. 9/10 managers would do that in those circumstances. Maybe Power wasn't their to ask. Every week the oppo knows how we play so know how to deal with it. Big month for us December and transfer business will be vital. Need a winning streak soon or its catch up and a 55 point target.

If you spend the afternoon in the bottom tier of Jessica Ennis you shouldn't have anything to complain about

Anyone who could spend an afternoon in Jessica Ennis is a hero. I'd be struggling to hold it in for 3 thrusts.

I would like to know where the 3 strikers were when according to cooper we changed it to 433, it's disrespectful of cooper to bitch about the fans singing sarcastic chants, if he had done his job right there would have been no need to sing the songs that were sung.

It was fairly mild criticism of the chants from what I've heard on the radio. The adver headline makes it sound more dramatic.

Sarcastic self mocking chants are all part of the fun when things are going really badly..

There's a discussion about drilling Jessica Ennis and you sad saps go back to talking about football formations. For shame.

True, but Cooper knows that it's his job now on the line....can you imagine Town fans doing something similar for a side managed by say PdC, Glenn Hoddle, Ossie Ardiles, Lou Macari, Bobby Smith, Fred Ford, Danny Williams, Bert Head?

I think there were a few chants of "lets all go to speedway" in the latter Danny Williams / Bobby Smith eras.
And then there was the classic "Gerry Cottles Red & White army" at 'Nam in the King days.

Probably, because they were going to speedway....I've known a few Town regulars down the years whose idea of bliss, would be an away game at Tranmere on a Friday night, followed by a trip to Barrow, to see the Robins v a usually short lived Barrow Bombers or Furniss Flyers outfit on the Sat.

Not to mention the "we'll win again..don't know where, don't know when."
