SWINDON Town fans may have to get used to an inconsistent Robins side this season, according to manager Mark Cooper.

Interesting he says the aim was survival. I think what he said is pretty much spot on. I think we have overachieved so far this season.

I agree...there's no doubt that this squad (with a better defence) is capable of decent things...but consistency is the key. Frustrating though, are one of those teams who makes wholesale changes every season....it would be nice to have a settled squad who grow together..

Interesting that Jed spouted promotion at season start was the aim yet Coops claiming he was told something different  Hmmm

I've always thought Jed is excellent at telling people what they want to hear (spin). No problem with that, I just take what he says with a pinch of salt.

There's still a long way to go....having some points in the bag is helpful, but it was fairly obvious that the aim for this season is survival, despite what McCrory says and a few on here think.

We've 26 from 17 at the same time in 10/11 we had 21....a similar tailing away, will still see us down despite the additional 5.

Next 2 games, we could do with picking up at least a couple of points, hopefully 3.

Jed wants to win the league. So do I! Our budget and what's gone on over the last 12 months always made this highly unlikely.

Reg is right we don't have enough points to stay up yet but then we have only played 17 games. We're still 7th. We're going to have to go on a hell of a downward slide for half the league to overtake us.

FWIW the first target always has to be to stay up but that's hardly going to put bums on seats is it? I also think the calibre of most of the players we've recruited is better than many thought. Yes they're a bit inconsistent but we're pretty much in the league position we deserve based on our performances this season.

I think we are doing massively better than most thought. The downside is it shifts expectation!
