I think the initial police press release said 16, and hence the media reported it, but then got corrected to 26.

I think that's what SM said on Twitter anyway.

That's how it happened. Initial release said he was 16, that was questioned, a clarification was issued stating correct age of 26 - it did take national media a while to cotton on. Police corrected statement inside half-an-hour but three hours later the Football League Show were calling him 16.

I think you are being generous there...

Only half of the show mind, the commentator stated 26 but the studio girl said 16. Consistency is key.

Out on bail, but imagine they'll throw the book at him - looking at other examples there was the Newcastle fan who got 12 months for punching a police horse, so think he'll get football ban for life and a potential custodial sentence (jail) of some sort.

That bloke should have got worse. It's all fun and games when you're pucnhing people but punching a horse? That's just wrong.

You're right Honkytonk, dirty mag bastad! Just another example, the Leeds fan who ran on the pitch and had a go at Chris Kirkland got 4 months in jail...he was also on his second banning order and had breached it 4 times...not sure what the guy who ran on the pitchs' history is?

I can second that as flash would 1) never made over the barrier & 2) he would have pulled his hamstring within 3 paces on the pitch.
