Has anyone actually seen any pictures of Nile Ranger holding the flag on the surface of the moon? Or on the grassy knoll? Ever wondered why not? Coincidence? Or is that just what they want you to think ......

The club could have released that statement a lot earlier

But then we couldn't have had the bits about the school trip to Wookey Hole....Nile wouldn't have been taken anyway, the risk assessment would have been too great, you can't chance entry into the Hole without permission.

I would think it would be along the lines of time off until the court case is over.
Hopefully, when/if he is cleared he will resume playing.
Need to keep fitness up in the interim, though

Not sure the fitness is that much of a worry, he didn't play first team football for a while before he joined us and seemed to hit the ground running on that front.

Would be genuinely sad not to see him play for us again.
Very talented young player

This could be a worry with so many games coming up over the Christmas period.
Naturally I say that as a selfish football fan, I hope the right decision comes off for all innocent parties concerned..

Club statement SWINDON Town Football Club have this afternoon released a statement regarding striker Nile Ranger.
The former Newcastle forward is understood to have missed a number of training sessions over the course of the last month, coinciding with his preparations for his upcoming rape trial - a charge he has denied.
The club have now granted him leave to 'address his legal situation' but it remains unclear how long he will be away from the club.
The statement read: "Nile Ranger has been permitted time off to address his legal situation on matters publically disclosed prior to his joining the Club.
"During the time Nile has been with Swindon Town, he has been a hard-working and respectful member of the squad and has respected the club’s policy and supporters. He has given 100% every time he has stepped on to the pitch in the colours of STFC.
"The Club will be meeting Nile’s representatives early next week to get an update on his legal situation and to review where we are in what is a difficult time for Nile and his family."

And as poor as he was, whenever I think of Dossevi I always go to that Bournemouth away game where literally everything went against him.
I remember that match well, mainly for the slip by the Bournemouth centre half allowing Dossevi to race through unchallenged with absolutely no one around him and shooting tamely at the 'keeper. No wonder we went down.

Agree, and his attitude on the pitch has appeared excellent, really not what I was expecting. Very disciplined when wound up by the opposition. We wouldn't find another player of his quality cheaply, that is for sure. Hopefully he can get the trial out of the way and we move forward.
