I know the CG has hardly had a rocking stadium atmosphere lately, but do you reckon our new style of play is a contributing factor?

The patient, sometimes painfully slow, build-up is hardly conducive to getting fans off their seats.

The same has been said for the Emirates and yesterday Spurs were intimating a similar thing.

In fairness, bar a few games in the last couple of years (Namely Villa, City, Chelsea (first half) etc)...the atmosphere has been lacking for quite some time....I don't think it's exclusive to the new/current style of football..

As I'm sure Shaw will tell us, Ian Curtis came from Macclesfield.

End to end fast paced football = more noise
An away team that are a bit dirty or have a few characters help to create a better atmosphere.
Away fans that can be actually heard, also helps

Atmosphere before games should be built up in the last ten minutes or so before kick-off, what do we get - every game - fucking Rocking Robin and Madness!!  Everybody has been sent to sleep before kick-off!!

I reckon we should whack some Slipknot on as the players come out. That should wake people up.

They need to have something at the start of each game that involves the fans (better than the "let's hear the arkells" etc from a few years back. Chelsea do that tune (might be double barrel by Dave and Ansell Collins  Huh?)

Edit. Not double barrel   it's gonna bug me now  Crash

Can't remember the last time I was in the middle of a crowd so loud that your ear drums vibrate and sound distorts.

Since moving from the TE to the DRS the best got was the "we are .... red and white army", and the worst is the moronic clapping along to TE's "red army" as if the whole stand has turned into a group of lobotomised seals. Even my previously rambunctious mates do it.

But I think the problem has crept up on us over the last decade.

Don't they play 'Wise Man Say' before we come out? Almost certainly nobody joins in, but if we were to get a rousing rendition of this it would surely get the crowd going a bit more than Rockin Robin doing a stupid dance in the centre circle?

We should book some 'thing' from Oxford to parade around the ground before the start and issue everyone with tomatoes (and the odd concrete block) to chuck at them
