I've had something similar in the past, I ended up going to A&E I was in so much pain.
Turned out I'd torn the rhomboid muscle in my shoulder, it was fine a couple of days later, just kept taking ibuprofen for the pain

Get some heat into your shoulder with a wheat bag/ hot water bottle but try to keep it moving as much as possible to stop it stiffening up.

You've got wankers cramp, Flash.

Wear gloves at night and take Ibuprofen during the day. You'll be fine.

I had a similar problem, turned out to be bad posture/positioning of the desk and things on my desk (mouse, keyboard etc) so I was constantly stretching  and causing a problem with a nerve in my neck which caused pain down my right arm. I got a mini keyboard (so I wasn't reaching for the mouse all the time) and changed the way my chair was set up and that solved it. Have you got Occupational Therapy people at work who can look at how you've got your desk/chair set up?

I find taking magnesium really helps for muscle pain and tension too. A few quid in Asda in their vitamin section.

Don't take more than a couple of them though, or you'll get the shits.

Don't go swimming either, you'll catch on fire.

Chiropractor's are pretty shit hot at this sort of a problem - might be worth a one off visit if it continues!
