Thats the first world cup England have qualified for unbeaten since 1990. 24 years, not that bad an achievement really.

Think the front four have looked very promising the last two games, although admittedly against a mediocre Polish defence and a Montenegro team that lost 5-2 at home to Moldova tonight. But if we can carry that freedom a fluidity, next summer could be enjoyable. We won't win, but it won't be the dull turgidity of the last few tournaments.

Again with England last 16 seems a realistic expectation. Maybe the quarters.

See who we get in the draw. I wont be expecting much tbh, the usual one good performance to give us a glimmer of hope before we go out. I've actually got rellies there, just need to win the lottery.

They will be shit and get slated.

Then they will be really good and everyone will get excited and think they're going to win.

At this point they get knocked out.

It is written.

In all of the England coverage its been missed that Scotland won a game.  I repeat Scotland won a game.  2-0 against Croatia.

Unbelievable.

Not his biggest fan, but Gerrard did really well there.

I've never heard someone say that.

Gerrard is a phenomenal player, if he'd turned his back on his local side and gone to any of the big clubs that would have snapped him up he'd have won everything by now.

So you are saying he has a serious lack of ambition then

Completely disagree. Had a decent game tonight but has been shit for most of his 100+ caps. An overrated player like a lot of other English players. Nearly went to Chelsea but didn't but apart from that how many teams have been in for him.

I guess it's largely down to the fact that I'm not a great fan of Liverpool & as a result tend to avoid there games as much as possible and the fact that he hasn't had that many great games for England.

As for tonight, I thought Carrick was better

Yup ,really attacked the Polish full back with pace and skill. Big step up onto the real world stage, but so far so good.
