At least he didn't get an extra game ban, probably their way of saying, yep you're right, wasn't  a red, but balls to you.

Sure I saw a ukraine player just stamp on an english players foot.  Yellow card.  Isn't refereeing consistency great.

The decision to appeal is the joke....and btw appeals go to the FA not FL. I can see that Cooper wants to be seen supporting his player, but it does set a bit of a dangerous precedent.  Would have been much better to accept the decision, and point out to the players the need for discipline on the pitch, particularly in the current climate where it's easy to pick up costly cards, for which Byrne has previous.

Considering he was trying to block a clearance from a player and not looking where his foot was going I assume that you and all other fans who say it was a red will be encouraging our players to not get stuck in from now on then as it is agreed that this sort of tackle merits a red.

Byrnes previous wasn't a red either,  Ffs don't  get any horse racing  tips off him, the lad isn't very lucky.

I imagine it would have been less of an obvious/deserved red card for many if hadn't been identified as the designated scapegoat player for many.

Jesus wept, it's nothing to do with whether you think the decision is right or wrong. The point is, you can't fight the system, you just have to accept it, like it or not.

Pointless though it may be I'm all for saying the system is fucked, the law is an ass and you're a bunch of cunts.  I'm sure the club didn't actually do that, but I probably would have.  Lucky I'm just a supporter I guess.

Correct. Didn't say it wasn't. They used to rule that any appeal which was not upheld was 'frivolous' and an extra game ban was given so perhaps they've changed that, which makes is slightly less wank.

No way Jose (Ajose), yes indeed I have.

Let me explain Fred. He said - Storey, end of. Have you never heard anyone say, 'End of Story (Storey)'.

Hence, my conclusion that it was your good self who was wooshed.  Cool

Good, save yourself any more embarrassment.

WRT to this, hardly a surprise. Absolute fucking travesty he's been robbed of the chance to play against Chelsea because he stood on someone's foot. Saw a couple of challenges in the PNE-Oldham game that barely got a second glance that were infinitely worse than the Byrne incident. Fuck refs.

I wonder how the 'Byrne Haters' would have reacted if, after running over half the length of the pitch and getting disposessed of the ball, he had just let his head drop and thought 'Fuck it, someone else can chase it down'? I suspect the odd accusation of lazy cunt may have occured.
