Surely we are at a lower level than £3.1m now?  I thought we were at £2.8m a month ago and since then we have offloaded the expensive Caddis, Benson, Ferry, Roberts, Miller, Williams Rooney and Rooney and added less cheaper options?

That'll probably be why

Yes, I thought that was strange. If we were aiming for £2.4m, it'd be a concern if we're still that far above it. Sam's comment that we're still sailing close to the FFP limit was interesting.

Has to be said, from someone who's been something of a sceptic about the Jed/Power combo, over the last week or so I think we've started to see it come together. As of right now, we look in relatively decent shape, I'm sure we'll have peaks and troughs throughout the season, but it's starting to look like the peaks could be pretty good.

This.

Only slight worry for me is central defence cover. As Sam has said it is thin and has no real experience, obviously TAH out on loan is one that will fit the bill and game time will obviously help.

All in all a far happier bunny than I was two months ago.

I agree in a way... But I think peoples main 2 grumbles were that:

1) The team would be shit
2) Jed & co are in it for themselves and are doing things on the cheap.

Last week knocked both those two concerns well out the park with two fantastic performances and results and the fact we paid a lot for a talented youngster. It'll take a few defeats to bring everything back down, and even then it looks like most people have accepted that September will be an extremely tough month for us.

I also heard Steve Murrell on the radio prior to the Crewe game.  The interviewer was trying to get him to give out figures as to how much the Chelsea game would be worth to us in tv rights etc.  He wouldn't say, but unless I heard him incorrectly he did say something along the lines of it will get the club through September's costs at least.  Did anyone else hear it?  Seemed to infer we're still struggling with month by month costs?

Yes I did hear the interview (yes I know DV heard it 3 months ago etc etc) I didn't take it that it inferred to us being in financial problems I took it just that it would make enough money to cover the months costs in general, therefore just saying that one game vs Chelski would give us the same income as 1 month normal football income.

Ah, that would make sense.  Thanks.
