Wrexham played Chester today and lost 2-0, a banner was produced

The mentality, the sheer moronic psyche of some people:

Judging by the thread on Deva Chat, Chester fans had graffited a memorial at the Racecourse Ground in the days leading to today's grudge match, I think to some mining disaster, and in some sick retort the Wrexham fans put these banners together to mock the recent deaths of two Chester fans, one of whom was a child from what I can gather. The banner was not taken down by stewards for a good 20 mins by which time it had been passed halfway along the Mold End Road side of the ground.

As far as I can (from their forum) tell 2 Chester fans that died in the past, one hung himself, one fell from the wall (originally blamed on being pushed by Wrexham fans).

I know we've had some that used to like the 'lampost' song...

What was the 'lamppost' song in reference to?

I think he means the "who's that wrapped around the lamppost" song from years ago.

Peter Houseman of Oxford, crashed his car, and there was a song that used to be sung about it - mainly at the derby games.

Very similar to the Munich stuff that was sung against man u - same tune as "lying on the runway"

I must admit to singing it in the past, but things were allot different then, it was probably 30 years ago, and attitudes were different.

IMO - not in the same league as mocking some kid who apparently hung himself

Peter Houseman

He was killed along with his wife and two friends in a car crash on the A40 near Oxford in March 1977 whilst driving home from a fund-raising event.

Is about Aldridge these days, well since he died anyway which must have been 10-12 years ago now I guess.

Predictably sung by a handfull during the JPT game at the 3 sided tip.

I was in the same class as Houseman's 7 year old in Witney - I still remember that as a horrible, horrible day.

Not sure why they'd add the 'One Dead Club' bit. Since that happened they've made a new club and climbed back up to the exact same level Wrexham are at. That's hardly something to be mocked.
