Pretty much. Didn't make it hard for Shrewsbury. Just faffed around with the ball in front of them and made silly errors which cost us two and should've been 3 goals. We started the 2nd half reasonably but that didn't really last long and it wasn't until Ranger came on that we gave them something to think about.

Cheers. I would love this nice football philosophy to work but I fear at this level we are going to be seeing this kind of match report a fair amount this season.

Afraid I have to agree with Sutton

What you find it baffling that people post opinions about football on a football forum?

I actually agree with Sutton that the Forum has gone downhill, but it's because if your opinion isn't the same as the majority or those who constantly side with each other, it's seemingly not worth giving.  The whole element of debate on  here has now gone, it generally ends up in an argument and people insulting each other.

Liked Sutton's observation but was it not simply a re-affirmation of the 25% football and 80% bollocks strapline?

Wait a minute, this post doesn't fall within the 25% football...

I'm off to watch Newcastle next Saturday and missing the Gills game, we will therefore win so don't worry.

so to all of you who insist cooper isn't the man for the job - who do you think is?

saying that the start we've had means he's not up to it or whatever many posters have said is just arbitrary clap-trap.  if we'd had a manager in before the start and had exactly the same results would you all be calling for the guy's head already?

so many people looking to rubbish the club at the moment and that won't change if a new man comes in.  if we yield 20 odd points from the next 10 games you'll all be moaning about something else entirely, if we bag 10 or so points from the same number of games then it will all be, oh, maybe we should have given cooper the job, at least he knew the players better, blah, blah, fucking blah.

yesterday was a bit crap, yes but the end of the sodding world it isn't - maybe we should start to operate like many soaps and dramas do, different writers for each episode, and just have managers on a weekly basis because no matter who may get the job at least 80% of fans will find a reason to hate him such is the lust for blood at the moment.

Not surprised to see Byrne mess up for their 2nd goal. Didn't rate him as a full back when he was on loan last season, and still don't now!

He'd been fine up until then.

He was ropey against Stevenage. Never a good idea to play a right footed player at left back.

Was good to see the centre halves covering back to give him some help though wasn't it?

Our players shouldn't make mistakes. Ever. And we also should never lose a game. If only the board would realise this then everyone would be happy.

there does seem to be a huge number who follow town that just do not seem to grasp that we are a L1 team and that as such mistakes will be made, sometimes often.

It's not ideal but he's young, mistakes will happen. He'd made some good tackles and interceptions during the game and was far from being one of the poorer performances.
