Cooper backs Tijane to shine

CARETAKER boss Mark Cooper knows winger Tijane Reis will become a ‘big asset’ for Swindon Town just as soon as he settles into his new surroundings.

Yay! Second comment is classic 'doubt he can do it on a cold, wet night in Stoke'. Foreign players, eh? Never catch on.

There is a player in there, I think he'll come good. Cooper makes a good point about settling in and lack of (match) fitness. I'd imagine the English game will take a bit of getting used to as well.

He has been disappointing so far though.

Agreed. I think if we persevere with this one, we'll be rewarded.

Think he's showed flashes of ability in all the games I've seen him in (Ciren, Turkey and Boro). Its a matter of getting consistency and match fitness. Do that and we'll have a very good player.

The match fitness thing is interesting. Tijane and I guess to some extent Harley and Kasim are not totally match fit hence why we faded in the Stevenage game I presume?

If we can get through this month and get some points on the board against Shrews, Crewe and Gillingham and get these guys sharp and match fit, the September matches against these 'bigger' sides could become very interesting as to where we are likely to feature come the end of the season.

I hope the club is doing all it can to help him integrate - language, and most of all a home. I only saw flashes of what he could do against Torquay, but certainly enough to suggest he could be one of our better players.

We'll need to be patient with him - there's very good evidence to show a drop off in a player's statistics when acclimatising to a new team, and even more, a new country.

I wish he had a modecum of a right foot.  Could become very easy for defender to just shephard him onto his right foot.

I want him to be good but think by December i'll decide he's ok and no more ....

Have you just seen Amir's post using the word modicum and decided to use it in your post?

Not sure it really works here to be honest! Smiley
