How come we couldnt sign Pack, Green & SWP whilst under an embargo yet Coventry can bring in players? That hardly seems fair?

Great - we've still got the £180k from the concerts, this new fantastic transatlantic deal, the Flint money, the Collins money, the stfcmyworld money is going to roll in, the wage bill is vastly reduced - only Caddis, Navarro and Cox to shift, probably not paying a bean for 4 Prem stars in the making, money saved on having only 2 Mercs on great terms, no PdC spunking money against the wall, no J Wray helping him spunking it up against the wall,  Cooper doing a managers job on peanuts, backroom staff on peanuts - what few of them there are, catering money rolling in, more money to come from concerts, possibly Spurs wonder coaches at the CG,  - fuck me, where's the downside.

Brilliant...just one quibble, think the Board dipped into their own pockets  Wink for the shows as the ticket sales were so poor.

Coventry City have signed Scotland defender Andy Webster on a two-year contract, despite still being under a transfer embargo.
The Sky Blues, who are in administration, have been given special dispensation by the Football League to sign the 31-year-old.

How do some teams get special treatment and others treated like an unwanted garden chair?

It's like this. There are embargoes, and there are Swindargoes. That's why the board have this cunning stunt to disguise us as Spurs something or other, because as we all know from past experience they only get slap on the wristigoes.

I've not really managed to decode Jed's 'not a transfer embargo, it was a club embargo' whitterings yet. He mentioned it again on the phone in. Can't decide if we'd decided not to spend money internally, or if the league had our knackers in a vice.

Well on football manager, which as we all know is just like real life, you get placed under a transfer embargo whilst a takeover is going through. This stays in place until the takeover goes through or, as in my current game, it continuously collapses. I suspect it's a different type of embargo than one that's placed on the club for salary cap issues or administration issues.
