That's a pretty good statement on the club's direction but ducks the question of what his actual role is which is concerning.

However, as said previously, Actions > Words.

Really? To me the statement refers things they have already done, rather than talk about things they are going to do...

Erm, yeah, me too. That wasn't what I said.

Apologies. I thought you were alluding to the whole 'false promises' angle which has been used previously by Town fans!

Oh, OK, I see what you were driving at now then. No, I was saying it's fine as far as it goes (and it's pretty good in that regard tbf), but it was all about the club/board's footballing philosophy, not about Power himself and what his role is. Which is what people had been asking for clarity on. So it was a little concerning that the statement rather blatantly ducked that.

So we got what we expected....  nothing we didn't already know.  However I am not sure what else anyone expected from this statement

This. Another little PR release that once again says very little really. Tbh us ordinary fans are never going to be told real details until it has already happened, and I would say that has always been the case with any football club.

Wouldn't it have been nice to have had a photo of him as well? Without one, he still seems a dark and shady figure, hiding away in deepest Switzerland.

Something is better than nothing, certainly.  But what Jed (and Lee Power) need to understand is that this club has previous - and fairly recent - experience of having been run by a shady character operating in the background.  And it didn't go very well.  Anything that looks or smells like another Diamandis situation is going to get a lot of people offside.  And as a result, transparency is a lot higher up the agenda than it probably used to be.

I don't want to denigrate everything that Lee Power is doing, because there are signs that some of what is being done might just work.  (Or fail horribly.  But that's not really the point.)  But given the absence of a manager at the moment, and that Lee Power appears to be doing a lot of the things that you might reasonably expect a manager to do (incl player selection and signing etc.), I think we're going to need to see & hear a little more about what he's up to than we have up until now.

This sums it up nicely for me too.

We have heard it all before...no spin please....just give us the shit sandwich...we've eaten them many times before.

Fredi on thisis says:

Hilarious timing of Lee Power's statement, with last real asset, Wes, about to be given to Brentford for £450k. Can't wait for Jed's spin on this one after promising he wouldn't be sold. And the two of them are already in talks to sell the club on, trying to blag a ridiculous sum. And still people will believe the bullsh*t. The fans deserve better, the players and staff deserve better. Fortunately, it will get better, but more pain first.
