A piece by his teammate Danny Webber that's well worth a read.

Remember I had my head phones in and a press statement was released minutes before the game v Sheff Wed, which I think had a delayed kick off?

20 mins in and we were 3 down but football didnt matter.

Most amazing memory was 2 weeks later and the home game v Notts County and Jimmy's mum's rousing speech before hand followed by a spectacular 4-0 victory led by a stunning Matt Hewlett left foot volley.

Jed has just put on Twitter he is sorting out a mins applause/silence before Saturdays match.

A few fans on there mentioned it......nice touch if it goes ahead.

A minutes applause for somebody that died because he was way over the limit and could easily have killed somebody else? He was no doubt inches away from being a Luke McCormick.

We all make mistakes

RIP Jimmy

To me it seems a bit strange to do this 10 years after the event. But maybe that's just me.

Nice trolling Flash but life is not black and white Luke McCormick v Jimmy Davis little boxes

I never knew Jimmy Davis and I wasn't at the Notts County game but the point is that Jimmy Davis' mum didn't tweet or post but came to share her grief with several thousand Town Fans at the very moment of an unimaginable loss whoever's fault it was and whatever might have occurred.  I like to think what might have been on the pitch and how we might have enjoyed following his career.

Jimmy's mum is thus part of our STFC family, good and bad.

Jimmy himself never showed any premiership type airs and graces here and just got on with it in his extremely talented way (a rousing performance at Wycombe and a solo goal of the season effort at Brentford stand out for me) and loved football

RIP Jimmy.

Can't believe it's been 10 years, has absolutely flown by.

Davis was one of the best loan players we've had, his performances in his 3 months here were on another level.

Remember the game against Wycombe at Adams park and he was the best player on the pitch by a million miles, would've loved to have seen what he could've gone on to achieve.. guess we'll never know.

I wondered at the time if we should have initiated the "Jimmy Davis Memorial Trophy" voted by fans and awarded to the beast loanee of the season...

Probably a daft idea.

I remember him being tearful at the send off after his last appearance for us. I wonder if that lucky kid still has the boots Jimmy gave him as he walked off?
