Byrne completes Town move after chaotic few weeks

ONE WEEK Nathan Byrne was signing a new, two-year contract at Tottenham Hotspur, the next he was making the permanent switch to Swindon Town.

Do people actually rate Byrne? I just can't understand this signing, 6 figures for a player whom has never really impressed me seems excessive. Also competition for RB seems sorted unless we are looking to offload Caddis.

I didn't think he was too bad in the games that I saw on the TV. He wasn't as good as Thompson at RB, but then he was our player of the year. I did however think he was an adequate replacement.

The transfer fee seems a strange one for a club struggling financially and for a relatively unproven youngster. Maybe the fee is a sweetener or linked some way to the rest of the Spurs squad we have either signed or loaned?

Could be a total 6 figure fee based on performance and with sell on clauses.  It is strange that he was annouced as having signed at the end of last season and then  signed a new contract with Spurs before joining us.

It actually wasn't announced that he had signed for us!!  Only that a "deal" had been agreed between us and Spurs!!  Why all this Byrne hating all of a sudden, saw it last night and again this morning.

He got bullied in the two tv games I saw but that was against the giants from Doncaster and then Clayton Donaldson so understandable. Never should of been sent off against Brentford, the first yellow was the ref being a cunt. Otherwise I think he looks a good player. Very tidy with the ball, short pass and move stuff, not the hoof up the line 'Vincent' style which can only be a good thing for you season ticket holders watching every week.

You should probably write to the club and ask them to run their signings through you then.
