Morhsead reckons the club should still make something overall. I reckon they are helping to make up the difference out of the 300k they will receive.

Bit of a blow though. Humph.

Fair play to the club for not letting people down who have already bought tickets. The ill feeling regarding the prices hasn't done them any favours, this is a decent gesture.

They could have still taken the 300k even if the concerts were cancelled.

I suppose it could help to make future efforts more successful as well so the gesture may not be entirely altruistic.

Judging by lots of people trying to claim their money back thats a given.

Even if it wasn't their fault they will be blamed by most.

Its the promoters that need to be shot, can't see how the club will get the blame pinned on them

I worry that the general non-STFC supporting public won't be able to tell the difference between the club running it or a promoter. I think the clubs reputation will be damaged in the eyes of a few disgruntled customers who think CG gigs = STFC culpability.

*Being devil's advocate.....

Of course the board deserve some of the blame for this shambles. If I rent my house out to a bunch of nutters who hold a massive party there, my neighbours, quite rightly, would not be happy with me, not the promoter.

Some would argue that the club signing up to this promoter, have endorsed them. If it all goes tits up, then Jed and Co should shoulder some of the responsibility.

Also if the board signed up to a promoter who put on a concert which was a rip roaring success do you think the board would be saying, 'oh no nothing to do with us guv, we just let out the ground'. Of course they wouldn't they'd be celebrating their fantastic decision to host such an event, and quite rightly so.
