Newquay's 'orrid. The Yeovil of Cornwall. Polzeath/Wadebridge/Delabole/Tintagel area is my favourite.

Good shout, Boscastle YHA right on the quayside, where you hear the waters lapping around you. Cornwall is King.

Newquay's 'orrid. The Yeovil of Cornwall. Polzeath/Wadebridge/Delabole/Tintagel area is my favourite area of Cornwall.

I haven't been around long enough to find my favourite ever place. I've loved being in a load of places, but not one has ever been 'perfect' enough to be my favourite.
Newquay isn't the best bit of Cornwall but it isn't horrid. I quite liked it when I went, nice beaches and stayed in a really lovely B&B.

I can't think of a favourite place but Tenby, Pembrokeshire is probably the best seaside town I've ever visited. Skomer Island, a seabird colony in spring/summer, off the coast of Pembrokeshire is the most peaceful spot I've visited.

Oslo is my favourite city. It's expensive to visit as a tourist but it's got great food, a nice atmosphere, easy to get around and best of all is that you can take the T-Bane out into the wilds of Nordmarka (the forest surrounding Oslo) or a boat to one of the beautiful and uninhabited islands in the Oslofjord to enjoy the sunshine, see some nature or just have a BBQ. I don't think there are many cities in the world where you can escape so quickly and easily.

Kaprun/Zell Am See in Austria where I've been for the past week was lovely. Bar the 100's of Burka's walking around at this time of year.

I really want to check out Oslo.  There are several cities in Northern Europe that appeal, but the only one I have been to is Copenhagen (which I thought was fantastic).

Dossy, you're absolutely right about Youth Hostels.  Why eat into the budget for somewhere to stay?  Better to spend the money on things to do while you're there, plus you meet people in hostels - not always the case in hotels.

I haven't been to Copenhagen, planned to do so later this year but looks unlikely. Stockholm is very nice too.

If you're ever in Oslo then give me a shout, I'll give you the guided tour in half a day Smiley

Copenhagen is a big favourite of mine.  Sorry to jump on your bandwagon, but there it is.

Too many to mention over here.  I think one of my very favourites would have to be the towpath at Henley on a sunny evening in summer.

In fact, Belgium in general must rank pretty highly.  Loved it the couple of times I've been.

Cheers mate. I got a Gold Card YHA life membership for my 30th birthday. My dad is a cycling enthusiast and stayed at many of them on his ventures in his younger years. Adventure enriches the soul
