the mrs has just got a ticket for breaching the terms and conditions displayed for this car park, as apparently we were there for 2.5hours (her family love to faff, and we had a few of them with us).

anyone know of a way to get around this? it seems a bit cunty to get charged a penalty when we were shopping

My mate had one last month in the same car park. He spoke to the manager and explained we'd spent £100 in his shop and he waived the fee.

I am not sure they can legally charge you anyway, I am sure that got changed when the bill regarding cowboy clampers became law.  It is an invitation to pay at the end of the day, but it will mean hassle I am afraid - I do know Tesco has had a problem trying to enforce overstaying charges!

Yeah, please do your own research but I doubt its legally enforceable. You could just ignore it, but you'll probably get the normal threatening letters re: bayliffs etc....which are usually idle threats.

In any case agree with whoever said speak to the store, it seem the less hassle route/best for peace of  mind.

There is a reply from go outdoors here:

In any case a couple of websites that may e able to give specific advice if Go Outdoors are unhelpful:

and a similar forum  here:

I've had one before and just ignored it. They send letters but just bin them. It can't legally be enforced and I'm not sure they can get info from the dvla.

Ignore it. Its the legal equivalent of some one parking on your driveway and you charging them £100 to do so.

Go in the shop, shout and scream at the manager. Will probably get it sorted and you can let off some steam.

The adverts are the top of these forum pages are quite clever.

There's a Go outdoors advert when i clicked on this thread.

A Wonga advert on the season tickets sales thread

Gary Roberts thread has a Great Value deals advert on his. (can't get everything right i guess)

I just got let off a ticket charge after phoning the management company of the retail park and having a moan,
5 minutes later the parking bastards had rang me to say how sorry they were I had been ticketed.

I think most managers would then take great pleasure in not waiving it and telling the customer to go and fuck themselves
