He's tweeted he hopes to sign it on Monday, so all good.

Thompson and Foderingham were probably our two biggest potential playing assets going into this summer.

To convince both to sign new contracts, despite cost-cutting, doom and gloom among the fans and an exodus of playing talent all around them, is a fantastic achievement by the board and maybe indicative that the atmosphere inside the club isn't quite as negative as it seems looking in.

The most important signing of the year, but he could still leave if a club offer silly money.

That will always be the case though.

I know Batch, I'm just stating the obvious that him signing doesn't mean he'll still be here in August (before we all get too excited).

It is more likely though, as the fee would need to be higher with him contracted for two seasons.

It also means that if he has another good season he will still be contracted for another year.

I think most of us believe that he is headed for a higher division than ours, the longer we can keep him the better, but when the time comes that he leaves I would prefer that we get a fee for him.
