Didn't realise the first friendly was so close. When are the players back for pre-season training?

I'd have thought you'd be all over the FGR friendly. Although I'd imagine they'll start as favourites, so could be a bit disheartening.

No No noooooooo. Friendlies at small grounds are the best. Shit friendlies are the ones against the big teams at the County Ground. It would be nice to have some different ones though, rather than the normal local dross and Ciren Town.

Hopefully we'll play at least one other football league side in the final week of July (that's what I'd be doing if I was still in FM/Champ Man playing days). Birmingham +1 other plus all the local crap is fine for me as it's a good balance.

I don't mind playing small teams but some variety would be good. It's always choose 3 out of Supermarine, Salisbury, FGR, Ciren, and a home game. At least Banbury is a bit different.

I want us to play foreign teams, credible ones too. Fenerbahce and Steaua Bucharest, those were the days.

I can't get excited about Banbury no matter how hard I try.

For me a visit from Stenhousemuir or Atletico Madrid (my two football crushes away from STFC) would be fucking ace. Both are unlikely in the extreme...

For me friendlies are a dull, dull spectacle. They belong on the training ground.
