No, not about Jayo or DMR. Any fruit that's past it's best gets thrown into a blender, usually bananas strawberries and grapes. Anyone make any obscure ones? Can this be done with veg?

It can be done with veg. Im not a big fan, but some of the people I work with are constantly doing concoctions of beetroot, celery, carrot, ginger that sort of thing. Im happy with my fruit thankyou.

What's wrong with fruit? There have been other recipe threads.

Fruit and chuck in a pro-biotic yoghurt or drink.

Last night's takeaway is always a good shout.
Or tuna mayo with a dollop of mustard.

This thread makes me think of The Core, in OT, where you can go and get a decent glass of juice fruit or veg and get your head rubbed upstairs. Disclaimer...not to be confused with the lamented St Tropez, who also did head rubbing.
Sort of place, to take a more discerning lady, for some afternoon refreshment...

Smoothies are the Devil's work, especially those with veg in. They taste like someone has already drunk them once and then regurgitated them back into the glass!

This one time I left a smoothie out for too long and it exploded, covering the room.

They ferment
Especially the Innocent ones, because they don't fill them with preservatives and stuff like some supermarket ones. I remember an episode of Watchdog a while back where Nicky Campbell was trying to be really combatative talking to the Boss of Innocent about their products exploding, and the boss basically just went "Yeah, we know this is a problem, but unfortunately it's an inherent thing with the product that we can't change other than sticking lots of artificial things in it. Hence why it's written on the packets how to store them. All the people who have complained to us have got gift vouchers, a big basket of produce, and apology letters or money for a cleaner." Campbell kept being a dick to him, but it was funny to see him kind of wrong-footed by how willing Innocent were to recognise and talk about the problem, and compensate anyone who'd experienced it.

I didn't complain, it was my fault for not storing it properly.

My typical smoothie contains:
2 carrots (so it's not pure sugar) bit of grated ginger spinach (can't taste it) 1 apple 1 orange/satsuma etc. 1 banana either mango or pineapple juice of a lemon or lime 1 handful of frozen berries (cheap in the supermarket) maybe a bit of museli for grain/sultanans teaspoon of ovaltine to fill me up a bit more ice/water/milk
...and anything else that happens to be on offer in the supermarket, or is going off in the fruit bowl/fridge.
Once I've had that my conscience can rest easy when I go and slightly abuse my body at the weekends.
