Swindon target Bees trio

SWINDON Town are casting an eye over a trio of Brentford’s key players from last season as they bid to rebuild their squad, the Advertiser understands.

You say that as though you know it for a fact. Messi may fancy a move to the bright lights of Swindon.

Diagouraga, who spent a short time on loan in Wiltshire in 2006, signed a new two-year deal with the Bees in March, while Donaldson is contracted until the end of next season and is thought to be interesting a number of Championship sides this summer, making a move to Swindon unlikely.

So we would have to pay a fee for both and they are unlikley to join! I assume this is the need to put any story out on a dead news day...

Move on.

It's embarrassing to make the suggestion we are even entertaining the possibility of signing any of these players in our current circumstances.

I assume this is meant to be some sort of clarion call to rally the fans after the departure of McCormack by implying we're still competing with teams like Brentford on equal terms, but the players mentioned are so absurdly out of our current financial range it just comes across as the blatant piece of PR misdirection and baseless spin it so obviously is.

Haha this is the best ever reaction to news about declaring an interest in three 3rd tier players!

Andrew Johnson got less ridicule. Heck even Chang's Jason Roberts story got less ridicule!

Nothing like a BS story on a non news day.  Has Sam been put on a retainer by Jed?

Sam's on holiday. This story is credited to Andy Warren.
It says nothing about sources or anything to give credibility to an incredible story. Bizarre!

Donaldson sounds unrealistic but why on earth are the others so far fetched?

To quote Horlock's quote of the Adver:
Quote
Diagouraga, who spent a short time on loan in Wiltshire in 2006, signed a new two-year deal with the Bees in March

Stranger things have happened in that Brentford could now regard him as surplus and release him on a free. But do you think we will be spending money on signing players from higher league teams?

Adeyemi...maybe more realistic. depends on wages and his other offers I suppose.

Diagouraga is under contract and would thus command a fee, unless Brentford were looking to off load him, Risser style. The Norwich fella...well a maybe, in a saner world, than we currently inhabit.
