Hooper and Rice quit club to focus on business interests

CALLUM Rice and Gary Hooper are no longer directors of Swindon Town Football Club after standing down to concentrate on their own businesses.

I have it on good authority that Mr Rice will be returning to the football club after the summer - he has only left to 'work the cruises'.

You heard it here first.

You need to check your sources - Tom and Katie got divorced ages ago - he'll just be working the Cruise, singular.

You mean he's spending the summer lurking in the dark around Hampstead Heath?

Does this mean that there are now two less Mercs for people to get their knickers in a twist about?  Oh hang on . . . wasn't there only two in the first place?

yup. Responded to a couple of people but no response when asked about this proof that was to be sent to the Trust. Here are the comments for anyone of a sensitive disposition who don't wish to trawl through the comments section:

On the basis that the truth comes out, however they like to spin in, about two months after the event, we should soon get an Adver exclusive that Jed has sold the club to Power and Crouch.....the disinformation and misinformation emanating from the County Ground would be vaguely amusing if the situation wasn't so serious and didn't involve our football club.

No grudge ciclo and nothing to do with the club other than genuine fan. Have always supported and will continue to support anyone whose best interests are aligned with the Club's. I was genuinely shocked and angered by this lot's behaviour when they took over and the lies that were told to appease fans. The trouble when you start lying is how do you stop and how do you dress up the truth when it finally comes out - politicians the world over have fallen foul of this. Funnily enough, I like Jed 's enthusiasm - it comes across clearly when you chat to him on twitter - and no fan would argue with the principle of running the club on a sound financial basis and "cutting one's cloth" accordingly....the trouble is Jed started on the wrong foot by pretending to be something he isn't and while the lies continue it is hard to believe anything. If he were big enough to tell the whole truth, his enthusiasm might win over a lot of the doubters, but, like so many politicians, his ego only allows him to plough on the way he started.

I know nothing about Crouch and with regard to Power, only the stuff that is in the public domain that is evidently causing him issues with the FL. What I do know is that it is they who have put up the £1.2m which has allowed the club to survive to here, for which I am as grateful as any other fan. It will be good when we can hear from them directly - the fact that they have invested real money demands and gets my respect, but it is not enough to see us through the summer so we need to hear their plans for the way forward. Power paid Jed a nice introductory fee, so it will be interesting to hear his views on the role he envisages for Jed going forward. Initially the plan was for Jed to step down but if there are still FL difficulties outstanding that may have changed.

The main issue now to sustain us over the close season, is unfortunately, how far the austerity program will have to go before we bottom out?

It is to be hoped that Crouch has some sort of handle on this, as he does, as far as we can tell, appear to have some sort of credibilty.

I'm inclined to think we'll see a few more departures yet, before getting back into some sort of balance.

To be fair, it is the busy season for Lincolnshire B&Bs, understandable he'd want to focus on his main LoB

Not to mention the Dunstable pub circuit, which is now crying out for local acts all the way through from Thursday to Saturday.
