It would be a different story should he want to stay, but the 2nd he hands in a transfer request there's no going back and need to get the best fee. I don't think anyone would come in any higher than that

Well yes, I understand that. It's just annoying that we were fending off bids three times that much with a shitty stick at the start of the season. And then, when times were hard, fooking 'muff (of all people) sidle up and go "Hey, so we're still interested. Shame that you denied us earlier. How about we take him for the night and see if we like him? No? Ok, ok, didn't mean to offend you, let's see what I've got in my pocket. Does he do everything? Well we might see our way to 40, presuming we're pleased with him and he behaves..." |
